From one of the most important London silversmithing familes of all time, the Barnards.
The firm traces its roots to the renowned partnership of Rebeccah Emes & Edward Barnard 1808 1824. Thereafter generations of Barnards continued crafting the finest silver. Examples are found in important personal and institutional collections worldwide.
This fine sterling silver Barnard family presentation mug in tapering cylindrical form.
Beautifully engraved rose and leaf displays. Set within leaf and scallped edge panel framed medallions. Alternating with slender streaming bell flower.
Background with all over "star" designs. A most unusally setting for the floral panels.
Thick, well cast inset thumb tapering C scroll handle.
Later presentation engaving "The Tifford Pony Show 1958".

Exceptionally thick, heavy guage sterling construction 5 ounces.
In excellent condition. The brilliant scrolling leaf and shield borders and floral medallions retain their original crisp, vibrant hand chased detail. Stands perfectly firm on table or serving tray. Bit of scuffing to interior centre, remants of old gold wash interior.
